Things to keep in mind for healthy skin during the summer.

Summertime is always a fun and warm experience, but it comes with more significant skin problems. The rising temperature and heat are the reason behind over 90% of the visible skin aging signs including wrinkles and age spots. Here are a few things to keep in mind this summer to achieve clear and glowing skin:

Religious and generous use of sunscreen can reduce the risk of developing the most harmful form of skin cancer, melanoma. Therefore, sunscreen is your best friend during the summertime. The best choice is a broad-spectrum sunscreen with more than 30 SPF. To blend sunscreen into your daily makeup routine, look for makeup that contains SPF, such as tinted sunscreens. A common mistake is neglecting your lips while stepping out in the sun. So, make sure to choose a lip product infused with SPF.

Hydration is just as important as sun protection. For moisturizing, a non-comedogenic, water-based, and lightweight moisturizer with hyaluronic acid is the way to go. It will prevent your pores from clogging and acne while providing hydration. Another great product to carry in your bag is a face mist which helps to keep your skin hydrated everywhere.

Over-exfoliation is a nightmare, especially in the summer when your skin is more vulnerable to sunburns. To get rid of the dead skin cells, use a gentle, mild exfoliator or alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids. It is ideal to exfoliate once or twice weekly but more than that can irritate your skin.

Don’t forget to take care of your body. Opt for a hydrating lotion and apply sunscreen on exposed body parts! It is essential to protect your skin from the harsh sun rays. However, in the case of a sunburn, use aloe vera gel and after-sun lotions which hold cooling and soothing properties
